Five Back to School Practices for Educators and Parents

Back to school is a busy time for educators and parents.  And, if you’re like me and live both of these roles the busyness can sometimes feel overwhelming and anxious.

For educators this time is full of planning lessons, setting up classrooms, organizing schedules and getting our heads wrapped back around the busy pace of September.

For parents, it’s back to school shoppings, early wake-ups, and the promise of an upcoming routine.

AWEsome Wellbeing Educator Retreat

The AWEsome Wellbeing Educator Retreat is happening on September 30th in Victoria, BC.

2×10 with WellAhead

WellAhead is a philanthropic initiative of the J.W. McConnell family Foundation that aims to improve child and youth mental health by integrating wellbeing into school communities.

This past year, Greater Victoria School District worked with them to co-design, prototype and scale out an initiative called 2×10 that is about connecting staff with students in schools.

2×10 is essentially an adult taking at least 2 minutes to talk to a student up to 10 times about something that is meaningful and positive to the student to help build a… Continue reading…
